About Peter Judge Woodworker
Experience & Creativity
I've been working in wood since I was 7 years old, building love & whimsy into every piece. Sculpted legs that seem to walk, crafted hardwood bodies, whimsical sweeps of contrasting species and rich colors of patinated copper. My pieces are sculptural, functional art; meant to be used, integrating art into everyday life, following the premise of the Arts & Crafts movement of the past century but with a contemporary aesthetic.
Process
I work with domestic and exotic hardwoods complimenting them with patinated copper, brass & bronze. I “paint with patina”, integrating those "paintings" into furniture, trays, frames and architectural woodwork.
Finishes
The patinated metals are coated with two part epoxy for extreme durability The woods are finished in hand rubbed hard wax oill for an extremely smooth and durable finish.
